Notes/questions for coauthors -- and to-do list (David will take responsibility, unless other coauthors are expressly noted here): For the first part of the paper, through the end of sec. 3 -- Abstract: Jon, best citation for Vink's models? Table 1: stellar parameters in Puls et al. 2006 are just taken from other papers by the same group (Repolust; Markova) -- check and see which "4"s should be replaced by "5"s and "6"s. Jon can you check this, too? RV corrections -- should check close binaries, too (viz. orbital motion) (esp. HD 150136) Subsections on resonance scattering (definitely in \S3) and porosity (probably in \S3 also, but maybe in \S5) are still to be written (by David). They'll be brief. The resonance scattering subsection just has to explain the adjustment we'll make when we do the ensemble taustar fits for epsilon Ori, with a little background. The porosity subsection will probably look at two high S/N lines, one with high taustar and one with low taustar, and show that hinf has to be very big to have an impact on the derived taustar. There will be significantly more questions and action items for sections 4 and 5. -------- Should we add HD 206267 to the first cut of the sample (only to then throw it out along with tau CMa and 15 Mon)? -- I think so; we'll need R*, vinfÉ for it Should we show (or otherwise describe) the poor-quality 15 Mon and tau CMa spectra to, as Maurice says, demonstrate how poor the quality of a grating spectrum has to be before it's not useful for this sort of analysis? Related to this, how about listing the total number of MEG and HEG counts for each star (and exposure times?) [OK, asked Emma to add it to Tab. 1] -- write a sentence or two about total count based rejection criterion Should we show more stars' line profiles in Fig. 1? Other sample stars with Fe XVII at 15 A include xi Per, iota Ori, 9 Sgr, HD 93250, HD 150136, delta Ori --------- HD 93250 has been reclassified by Walborn et al. 2010 as O4 III(fc) -- so change Tab. 1 and symbol in Jon's summary plot; er, or add to Jon's summary plot CWS and EWS should be spelled out at their first use
