X-rays from Magnetically Channeled Winds of OB Stars David Cohen (Swarthmore College) Marc Gagne (West Chester University) Informed by theoretical models of the winds of magnetic O and B stars, X-ray observations can provide information about the spatial distribution, temperature, and velocity of hot plasma in the magnetically controlled circumstellar environments of magnetic massive stars. X-ray spectral and timing diagnostics provide constraints on models of magnetized massive star winds, and also provide a means for identifying candidate magnetic massive stars from X-ray surveys. I will discuss the X-ray signatures of magnetic channeling in the canonical MCWS source, theta1 Ori C, as well as applications to other stars, including Bp stars like sigma Ori E.
