  • Finish thesis intro
  • Make poster for Sigma-Xi
  • Finish thesis section about excitation kinematics
  • Put together a presentation (lots of pictures, few words) for Joe MacFarlane about our new atomic model (we want to make a simple model with term splitting and fine structure) and our confusion about whether the changes we make are actually being saved
  • Try simulations with new atomic models to check density dependence issue
  • Use new simulations to produce TfromVUV plots for APS-DPP poster
  • Make new atomic models with more levels to make sure results don't change
  • Re-test equilibration time for time-dependent simulations
  • Run simulations for TfromVUV with densities of 1e14 and 2e15
  • Modify TfromVUV code to allow for both temperature and density to vary (maybe not necessary...)
  • See if our new atomic models make a difference in the 229.7 nm line mystery
  • Try simulations with non-Maxwellian velocity distributions
  • Work on glossary of terms
  • Try PrismSPECT simulations with additional impurity elements (nitrogen alone, N+C+O, He, metals...)
    • Calculate total power emitted in the form of radiation (SSX has 1 kJ of energy lost over 1e-4 s, so ~10 MW)
      Use "frequency integrated power in band" tool in PrismSPECT line intensity viewer
