Optical argon emission spectra using /ssx/argon/Ar_test_v2.psi this workspace uses the standard atm file for UV and optical spectra and calculates a spectrum on 1 to 10 eV n12T1: = .026 I: 0.974 II: 0.026 III: 1.5e-10 IV: ----- *can't currently do a check with an atomic model that includes all levels because it leads to a memory allocation error *testing the inclusion of H as well as Ar Ar_test_v3.psi 99% H and 1% Ar (and T = 1eV) = .027 I: 0.973 II: 0.027 III: 1.5e-10 IV: ----- (but 6 orders of magnitude higher than in pure Ar case) and H: H I: 0.958 H II: 0.042 There are strong Lyman and Balmer series lines, very weak ionization edges in the contiuum, and all the same Ar I lines seen in the pure Ar simulation, though with somewhat different ratios (factor ~2) and overall reduction in strength (b/cs of the 1% dilution in n_ion) of ~2-4%. This simulation (using 99% H and 1% Ar, and the Z18_Ar_vis_uv_spectra.atm standard atomic model) will be our standard (though at higher temperatures, will we want to include more levels from higher ion stages?).
