Scattering Sunset
- Demonstrate why the sky is blue and sunsets are red.
- Set up the water tank on an overhead projector. Add 10 g
of sodium thiosulfate (main ingredient in photography fixer) per liter of
water. Then add a small amount of dilute acid- 30 drops of 2M hydrochloric
acid for every liter of solution. Stir. Sit back and watch the "sunset".
