Chester Children's Chorus: Astronomy 2005
Model Solar System
Click on each photo to see a larger version.
We researched the sizes and distances of each planet, and shrunk the whole Solar System scale down by 10 billion.

We found models - small spheres - for each of the (first six) planets, plus the Moon and Sun. They were small.

Demar is standing at her planet - Mars - 23 meters from the Sun, but only half a millimeter across (you can't see it in this photo).

The students' information about their planets:
Tray - Mercury
Aliya - Venus
J'atienne - Earth
Jenniffer - Moon
Demar - Mars
Asr - Jupiter
Kiara - Saturn
